Cashier/Front End  -  Counter Retail Sales   -  Food Prep/Catering

Cashier/Front End

 

JOB OVERVIEW

 

Provides fast friendly customer service by processing handling customer purchases in an efficient, accurate, safe and courteous manner.

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

 

 • Cashiers and Customer Service Center employees must accurately record customer transactions and accurately handle monetary transactions by operating a cash register (POS system).

 

 • Courtesty Clerks/Baggers bag groceries, assist customers to their vehicles, reshelve merchandise and perform other duties as needed.

 

 • Assists customers in locating merchandise and engages in suggestive selling.

 

 • Stocks merchandise as needed.

 

 • Communicates with others in a polite and professional manner.

 

 • Cleans work areas as needed.

 

REQUIREMENTS

 

 • Strong Customer Service Skills.

 

 • Regular attendance required.

 

 • Mental alertness required.

 

 • Basic Math skills and operation of register required for Cashier and Customer Service Positions.

 

 • Lifts, manipulates, pushes and pulls items of varying sizes up to 30 pounds.

 

 • Bends and stoops, twists and turns

 

 • Standing for long periods of time is required.

 

 • Baggers work in both a climate controlled

environment and walking is required.

Counter/Retail Sales

 

JOB OVERVIEW

 

Provides fast friendly customer service. Sells and/or orders and prepares for sale meat or pre-packaged meat items depending on position.

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

 

 • May cut, grind, cube, wrap, stock and cook meat and/or seafood products, depending on position.

 

 • Uses knives and operates slicers, grinders, cubers and other equipment depending on position.

 

 • Assists customers in locating merchandise and engages in suggestive selling.

 

 • Rotates product and ensures code date compliance.

 

 • Communicates with others in a polite and professional manner.

 

 • Cleans work areas as needed.

 

REQUIREMENTS

 

 • Strong Customer Service Skills.

 

 • Prior meat-cutting/handling experience a plus.

 

 • Regular attendance required.

 

 • Mental alertness required.

 

 • Lifts, manipulates, pushes and pulls items of varying sizes up to 50 pounds, depending on position.

 

 • Bends and stoops, twists and turns

 

 • Standing and walking for long periods of time are required.

 • Requires use of plastic or latex gloves.

 

 • Work environment can be as low as 40 to 50 degrees Fahrenheit in coolers and as low as 20 degrees in freezer.

 

 

 

 

 

Food Prep/Catering

 

JOB OVERVIEW

 

Responsible for upholding Ferguson’s Standards, and adhering to Standard Operating Procedures. Works independently and in a team to ensure front and/or back of the house food preparation duties are complete to include but not limited to, food and beverage preparation, maintaining sanitation and safety standards and providing exceptional customer service at all times.

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

 

• Adheres to Ferguson’s standard operating procedures and merchandising guidelines, with a strong emphasis on customer service, safety and sanitation. Maintains a positive and professional work environment.

 

• Production: determine needs for catering and counter stocking/orders; prepare all cut meat and seafood needs; slice and weigh portions accurately; perform closing duties as required.

 

• Operational Tasks: Provides excellent customer service and performs miscellaneous job related duties as assigned by the manager.

 

• Department Conditions: Maintains cleanliness, sanitation, and overall organization of the department including all fixtures, storage, work stations, freezers, and coolers.

 

REQUIREMENTS

 

• Must demonstrate excellent customer service to customers and Team Members at all times.

Must be able to work independently and within a team setting.

 

• Must be organized and pay close attention to detail.

 

• Must be able to multi-task and assist customers while completing necessary production duties within the department.

 

• Must be able to read and follow both written and verbal instruction.

 

• Must demonstrate manual dexterity with potentially hazardous equipment (mixers, slicers, etc.).Must demonstrate excellent customer service to customers and Team Members at all times.

 

• Must be able to work independently and within a team setting.

 

• Must be organized and pay close attention to detail.

 

• Must be able to multi-task and assist customers while completing necessary production duties within the department.

 

• Must be able to read and follow both written and verbal instruction.
